Residents of Whati are being told to prepare for an evacuation, which could be ordered at any time.
An evacuation notice was upgraded to an evacuation alert at 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 27.
"Residents of Whatì should be ready to evacuate on short notice due to a wildfire in the area," said Community Government of Whati senior administrative officer Sherbaz Muhammad. "This is currently an alert to prepare. If you need to evacuate, an order will be issued with further information."
