CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - You can now give your input to help the city of Charlotte find its next chief of police.

Current Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Johnny Jennings is retiring at the end of 2025, and the search for his replacement is underway.

The city launched a new 15 question survey to get a sense of how people viewed the department and any changes they might want to see under new leadership.

WBTV went around Charlotte to ask people if they knew about the survey and to see how they would answer some of the questions. Many tell us this was their first time seeing the lengthy list and they’re glad we showed it to them.
