A Calgary public library has been evacuated after a suspicious package was found on Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the Judith Umbach Library near Centre Street North and 64 Avenue around 1:05 p.m. for reports of a package found inside the building.
Officers arrived and determined the package needed further inspection.
In the meantime, the library has been evacuated and closed to the public.
Calgary police have spent the day on Wednesday investigating another suspicious package at an industrial area in the city’s southwest. Investigators confirm the two incidents are not connected.
