FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (WCBD) - Today, the waves welcomed back five sea turtles as they returned to the ocean, each one released by the South Carolina Aquarium after special care and recovery.

All five juvenile Kemp's ridley sea turtles—Seashore Mellow, Sunflower, Marigold, Hyacinth, and Sweet Caroline—were accidentally caught by fishermen off the coast of South Carolina earlier this summer, according to the South Carolina Aquarium.

The turtles were transported and treated at the Aquarium's Sea Turtle Care Center, a facility dedicated to the rehabilitation and release of sick and injured sea turtles.

Numerous supporters had the opportunity to witness their joyous return to the ocean at Folly Beach.
