OCONTO, Wis. (WFRV) - The first day of school is right around the corner, but for some foreign exchange students, time is running out and without a host family, they will not be able to attend class.

A coordinator in Oconto is working to place as many students as possible in schools across northeast Wisconsin.

"We currently have 38 students left from six countries looking for a host family," Pan Atlantic Foundations local coordinator Tiffany Krall said. "The deadline is approaching quickly on September 2."

Host families are asked to provide a safe home and welcoming environment for the school year.

"Any family is a good family. We have single people, couples and empty nesters," Krall said. "The important thing is that they have an open heart and a willingness to share our culture with
