LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Governor Jim Pillen ordered that all U.S. and Nebraska flags be flown at half-staff until sunset on Sunday to honor the victims of a mass shooting in Minneapolis.

“Suzanne and I are horrified by the news coming out of Annunciation Catholic Church and School in Minneapolis,” said Gov. Pillen. “We are absolutely heartbroken for the families and community. We will continue to pray for the students, teachers, and others affected by this senseless act of violence.”

A shooter opened fire with a rifle through the windows of a Catholic church in Minneapolis Wednesday morning, killing two children, aged 8 and 10, and wounding 17 others . Authorities said the children were celebrating Mass during the first week of school.
