Police have identified the two men who were killed in a shooting in New Haven on Monday afternoon.

Authorities said it appears that a group of men got into an argument, which escalated into a fight, and the two men were shot in the 70 block of Dickerman Street around 2:12 p.m.

Both had been shot several times and they were not responsive when officers arrived at the scene.

Ambulances transported them to Yale-New Haven Hospital and 26-year-old Daiquan Hyman, of East Haven, died shortly after arriving at the hospital, police said.

Ernest Williams, 32, of New Haven, died late Monday evening.
