Funeral arrangements set for fallen Kansas City officer, suspect charged in his death

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KAKE) - As funeral arrangements are set for Kansas City, Kansas officer Hunter Simoncic, who was killed during a chase Tuesday, the suspected driver in that case has been officially charged.

KCKPD says services for Simoncic will be held September 3 at Children's Mercy Park. The service, which will be open to the public, will begin at 10 a.m.. Parking lots will open at 7:30 a.m., and stadium gates will open at 8 a.m.. A law enforcement processional will follow the service. Public parking will be available in Blue Lot 2 on the grounds of the Kansas Speedway.
