VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — As the summer season comes to an end, the Vigo County Parks Department said this summer has been a busy but exciting time.

Over the summer, the parks department hosted returning events like family hikes. They also hosted new events such as their first-ever "Star Party" in partnership with the Oakley Observatory.

Looking ahead to the fall, the parks department will hold events like Pioneer Days, spooky events for the Halloween season, and hayrides.

The Vigo County Parks Department's Natural Resource Programmer, Tavia Hedrick, encourages the entire community to get out and explore parks in Vigo County.
