OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) -- The Owensboro Museum of Fine Art is looking to expand with what some directors are saying is a much-needed building dedicated to education. And it couldn't have happened without a little help from the community.
The Owensboro Museum of Fine Art has broken ground on the Artland II Education Annex, an expansion on its current studio space.
Jason Hayden took on the role of executive director in 2024 and since then he's been pushing for innovation.
“This is the result of the museum putting money behind an idea, and that is to teach more children and to reach more children with the visual arts,” Hayden said.
Hayden says the museum hosts various art programs throughout the year but growing attendance keeps the space maxed out.
