(NewsNation) — A new survey conducted by the U.S. National Science Foundation indicates that sexual assault or harassment is a regular problem for people taking part in Antarctic research.

More than 40% of respondents to the survey said they experienced a sexual assault or sexual harassment during recent expeditions to the southernmost continent.
