GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — Greene County's tourism numbers broke its record in 2024. The county saw a 7% increase in visitors, resulting in more than $114 million in visitor spending.
Bo Woods with the Greene County Partnership said it's partly because of the work they've been doing to promote the county's history and fun events.
"We have a lot of natural beauty here. We have a lot of outdoor opportunities for people, and of course, we have a unique history here. We have a unique relationship with not just Appalachian history and culture, but American history and culture," Woods said.
He said this increase in tourism is not only a win for the partnership but for the local community as well.
"The direct economic impact of tourism in 2024 turns into tax savings for our neighbors. I believe the
