TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local non-for profit continues their efforts providing food for the community, but with a new update to their garden.
One local partnership here in the Wabash Valley is helping fight food insecurities and are finding more efficient ways to do so.
Food shortages are happening all across the US and according to Hunger in America over 50 million people turn to food banks and pantries for assistance.
"We have just really seen an increase in demand for produce," said Angie Decker, Vice President of the Wabash Valley Master Gardeners. "The cost of food has gone up, and we have been welcomed to every food pantry, every soup kitchen. We have shown up with pounds and pounds of food and they have gladly accepted it."
