GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — His is a voice that has helped raise generations.
On televisions across the country, Elmo and the neighbors of Sesame Street have taught kids values of kindness, community and more.
The work of programs like Sesame Street and its home, PBS, is a passion for Jim Rademaker and his team at West Michigan's local PBS station.
"For a lot of people, we're their only access to the arts," said Rademaker, who works as the general manager at WGVU. "We're the classroom that never closes down. We open up the world to people who don't necessarily get to travel beyond to see what's happening across the oceans, what's happening around our country."
