HAZEN, N.D. (KFYR) - Fishing is a popular hobby for many North Dakotans, but some are unable to take part because of a physical or adaptive handicap.

Others can’t fish from a boat because it’s too difficult to get into the vessel.

Jeff Gooss is on a mission to change that by making fishing available to everyone, no matter their handicap or physical limitation.

The lack of accessibility around Mercer County and the surrounding areas infuriated him.

“The more I researched it, the more upset I got,” said Jeff.

That’s why Jeff and his wife, Jennifer, started Wheelchairs and Walleyes 18 months ago, and the momentum has been nonstop ever since.
