PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — After a car was found on its side — without its driver — in a shallow part of the Columbia River earlier this month, authorities revealed that the individual died in the crash.

On August 2 at around 8 a.m., Portland police said a car crashed through a guardrail and landed in the water outside the intersection of Northeast Marine Drive and Northeast 122nd Avenue. At the time, the driver of the car was not found, despite the assistance from other emergency response agencies. • A driver crashed through a guardrail along NE Marine Drive and ended on its side in the Columbia River, August 2, 2025 (PPB) • A driver crashed through a guardrail along NE Marine Drive and ended on its side in the Columbia River, August 2, 2025 (PPB) • A driver crashed through a guardrai
