Opened in 1907, Washington D.C.'s Union Station has had plenty of highs and lows in its nearly 120-year history, having undergone a number of management changes. In more recent times, Amtrak took control of the transit hub in July 2024 after striking a deal with a real estate firm for $505 million. Various rail lines and buses connect travelers with the rest of the United States via this Amtrak station in the American capital, servicing many of Amtrak's busiest routes .
