During his climb up the Cardinals farm system as a starting pitcher, right-hander Gordon Graceffo saw the give-and-take the gaps between outings could bring.
“It was tough having a bad start and then having to wait those five, six days and go out there again. It gives you a lot of time to work on things and think about things, but it's tough to definitely wait that long,” Graceffo said.
Now working primarily in relief while bouncing between the majors and Class AAA, the nature of his role has an additional layer to his experience of learning to pitch in the majors.
