MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A man was injured after he was caught in the crossfire of a shooting Tuesday night, according to the Memphis Police Department.

Just after 11:20 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call near a home on Highland Street.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who said that he had been hit by “what sounded like a pistol,” according to police.

The victim was driving on Prescott Street near Cherokee Boulevard in his brown 2017 Chevrolet Cruze when he heard a shot that came from O’Brien Park in the area.

The victim reported that he pulled over at the home on Highland Street when he realized that he had been hit and called the police.
