Labor Day weekend is about here, and the Michigan Department of Transportation is doing what it can to help drivers hitting the road.

Spokesperson Nick Schirripa tells us MDOT is suspending road work where possible.

“ We do our best to get out of the way, so we are removing restrictions statewide on a hundred out of 164 projects,” Schirripa said. “ So about 61 % of lane restrictions will be removed.”
