A man has been charged with capital murder in connection with a weekend Montgomery shooting.

At about 12:37 a.m. Aug. 23, police went to the 5000 block of Carmichael Road on a report of a person shot, she said. They found Damorrea Dill-Driver, who was fatally shot, she said.

Roderious Dortch, 37, is charged in the case, said Lt. Ernestina McGriff, spokeswoman for the Montgomery Police Department. Dortch was identified as the suspect, taken into custody on Aug. 26, and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility, she said.

No other information was immediately released by police.
