WELCH, WV (WVNS) - The Mount View Golden Knights have had a hard offseason. In February, the McDowell County community was devastated by flooding. Then, months later, beloved Assistant Coach Kelvin Doubouse passed away unexpectedly.

But after that struggle, the Golden Knights are glad to be back together on the practice field, working toward a common goal. They’re coming off a 3-7 2024-2025 season but looking to turn things around under new Head Coach Curtis Lindsey.

Lindsey says the culture and work ethic at Mount View have not been up to standard - but he’s working to change that one day at a time.
