SHADY SPRING, WV (WVNS) - For three years now, Shady Spring has been building toward this season. They have a large senior class that took their lumps in 2023, made the playoffs in 2024, and now have big goals this season.

The senior class of football players at Shady Spring High School has come a long way to get to where they are right now.

“Big senior class. We’ve all been playing. If it hasn’t been midget league, it’s been middle school or even as freshmen. I’ve been around these guys my whole life," reminisces Joey Cowger, Senior Center and Defensive End.

Seniors like Cowger, Linebacker Kaiden Helmer, and Quarterback Cal Culicerto were forced into leadership roles two years ago, on a roster devoid of many upperclassmen.
