BENTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — A Bentonville detective received citations for disorderly conduct and violating hunting laws after he admitted to firing a gun at a country club in Rogers, killing multiple geese and nearly missing bystanders.
A report said Rogers police responded to a shots fired call at the golf course at Shadow Valley Country Club on July 10.
The caller shared that they and someone else were fishing on the pond when a man in a golf cart fired what they believed to be a .22 caliber rifle in their direction.
According to the report, the caller believed the man was shooting at geese, which were close to where they were. Both witnesses said they heard shots flying overhead and had to yell at the man to stop shooting.
