A vehicle matching information from a 2024 missing person's report was pulled from a suburban harbor with the body of a dead man inside, authorities said.

Around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, police and fire officials responded to Waukegan Harbor for a report of a vehicle submerged in the water.

The vehicle was located by a company that was doing sonar scans in the area, authorities said, and it has been submerged "for an extended period of time."

Preliminary information indicated the vehicle matches information from a missing person's report from 2024, authorities said.

A deceased adult male was in the driver's seat of the vehicle, still wearing a seatbelt, authorities said.
