Most rookie quarterbacks aren't and some of the best in the league today didn't start right away, like Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. Even last year's third overall pick, New England Patriots' Drake Maye, didn't start Week 1.
