SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
California's U.S. Senator Alex Padilla is not ruling out a run to be the state's next governor.
Padilla told KCRA 3's Ashley Zavala in an interview on Wednesday that he is primarily focused on the state's special election this November on redistricting, when California voters will be asked to approve new maps that attempt to remove Republicans from the state's representation in Congress.
"Look, I know there's a governor's race next year," Padilla said before pointing to the special election ballot measure known as Proposition 50 and the Republican attempt to redistrict for Republicans in Texas.
