SALISBURY — Anyone who stopped by the West End Mini Mart on Saturday had the opportunity to learn about how to practice sustainability and self-sufficiency in their own lives.
The “Return to Our Roots” event, held in the empty lot next to the store, was organized by Rooted and Rising Collective head Tonya Cross.
“The vision for this is to educate people about food self-sufficiency, educate people about how to grow their own food, what that looks like. It is doable. You don’t need a yard, you can do it on your deck or front porch with a few pots,” said Cross.
