EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. —
A California man convicted of multiple sex crimes involving children failed to show up for his sentencing date after he was released on bail, according to the El Dorado County District Attorney's office.
On July 17, officials said Carl Cacconie, 51, was found guilty of six counts of committing lewd acts upon a child under 14.
During the trial, it was revealed that Cacconie molested a young girl for a number of months between 2014 and 2015. The jury also heard testimony from another victim who described being molested by Cacconie under similar circumstances in the early 2000s.
He was set to be sentenced on Aug. 25, the district attorney's office said.
