Pat Narduzzi and Co. had been hoping and praying all offseason his team could avoid in 2025 the same volume of injuries that derailed their 2024 season.

But last week, he and the Panthers shared some devastating news — backup linebackers Jeremiah Marcelin and Jayden Bonsu would both miss the coming seasons with injuries.

Even without those two reserves, Pitt boasts an outstanding top group of linebackers — Rasheem Biles, Braylan Lovelace and Kyle Louis might be the best starting trio in all of college football. What was at one point perhaps the deepest position group on the roster, though, is suddenly thin — and the prospects of surviving one or two more injuries are dubious.
