Each year, the Washington Center for the Book, an affiliate of the Library of Congress Center for the Book, recognizes a cohort of writers who published outstanding works during the prior year. Now in its 59th year, the Washington State Book Awards recently announced its list of 2025 award finalists, with winners in each of seven categories set to be announced on Sept. 16.
