Longtime swim coach Brent Tomberlin and Virginia LaCombe, who still holds four track and field school records, are among the six individuals who will be inducted into the South Caldwell High School Athletics Hall of Fame Class in 2025.

Tomberlin and LaCombe will be joined by Anthony Glass, Heather Pritchard, Glenn Hicks and Robby Shelby in this year’s class. Inductees will be honored on Sept. 19 during halftime of the football game against T.C. Roberson.

Tomberlin was a three-year swimming letterwinner as a student and helped the team to its first boys conference championship. He was named the team’s Most Valuable Swimmer as a senior and went on to a four-year swimming career at UNC Charlotte. He came back to South Caldwell as a teacher and a
