After a long, hot, humid summer in the Tri-State, we're getting a meteorological gift as the calendar flips from August to September.

The Labor Day weekend weather is going to be gorgeous, according to the National Weather Service forecast for the region.

Here's what the agency is saying about the weather Friday through Monday.

Temperatures in the 80s, low humidity

Surface high pressure will settle in over the Great Lakes region late in the week, setting up pleasant conditions for the holiday weekend.

Temperatures through Sunday will be 5 to 10 degrees below seasonal averages, the weather service said, though they will start to trend warmer on Monday.

The dew points in that time frame will also continue to hover in the lower to middle 50s, keeping humidity levels comfortable.
