Football season is finally here in the Texas Panhandle, and high school teams around the area will kick off the 2025 campaign on Thursday and Friday.

Week 1 features an intriguing slate of non-district games, as Dick Bivins Stadium will play host to showdowns between Palo Duro and Tascosa, as well as Odessa High and Amarillo High. Happy State Bank Stadium will host a Thursday matchup between Canyon and Perryton before Seminole and West Plains clash at CISD's home venue the next day.

Canadian, Bovina and Sunray are all set to take on out-of-state opponents. The Wildcats and Bobcats will meet teams from Oklahoma, as Wes Boatmun's team travels to Hooker and Andy Cavalier's group welcomes Elk City to town.
