LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) arrested a man Wednesday who they say stole a vehicle and kidnapped a 9-month-old child in downtown Louisville.

Brandon Conley is charged with kidnapping and theft of a vehicle.

LMPD said he stole a gold Chevy Trailblazer near South Brook Street and East Broadway just after 5 p.m.

The parents told police they left the vehicle running and walked away with the child still inside, Conley's arrest citation showed. That's when they saw a man get into their vehicle and drive off with their baby.

Staff at UofL Jewish Hospital said the man arrived at the hospital, dropped the baby off in the lobby and fled the scene, according to his arrest citation.

Police said officers found the vehicle a little while later at 27th Street and Muhammad Ali Bou
