A man in his 40s was stabbed to death in northwest Rochester on Wednesday, Aug. 27, according to Rochester police.
The man, who was not identified by police, was stabbed at the corner of Dewey and Driving Park avenues in Rochester and was driven in a private vehicle to the St, Mary's Medical Campus, 89 Genesee St., around 3L45 p.m. said Capt. Frank Umbrino of the Rochester Police Department.
The man had been stabbed multiple times and, despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at shortly after he arrived, Umbrino said.
Police are investigating to determine what events preceeded to the killing. No charges have been filed in connection with the fatal stabbing, which marked Rochester's 24th homicide of 2025, according to RPD's Open Data Portal.
