BRAWLEY — Sheriff's investigators are investigating a sex offense that allegedly occurred on Tuesday at Heber's Dogwood Elementary School.

Imperial County Sheriff's Office activity logs show the agency received a report at 7:47 p.m. on August 26 from Pioneers Memorial Hospital staff regarding a sex offense presumably committed by a school staff member.

The victim's mother told sheriff's investigators she picked up her daughter at 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday. The minor told her mother she had discomfort in her genital area.

The logs indicate the mother examined her daughter and observed redness in the genital area. The minor told her mother that a male teacher allegedly wiped her when she had used the restroom at the school.
