NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – North Charleston Mayor Reggie Burgess is bringing city council meetings to the community.

Officials say taking the meetings out of city hall will allow residents and business owners to meet their leaders.

The first community meeting will be held at the North Charleston Sports Complex (1455 Monitor Street) at 7 p.m.

Some of the agenda items for Thursday night’s meeting include a discussion on an ordinance to adopt the five-year review of the PRIME North Charleston Comprehensive Plan and to adopt a resiliency element as part of that plan.

Council will also discuss a resolution approving the proposed fiscal year 2025-2026 Charleston Area Transportation Authority operating budget, and a proposal to purchase a new playground at the Persephone-Moultrie Communi
