The Hawaii Tourism Authority engaged with over 40 Hawaii island residents this week during a 90-minute digital meeting to gather input about tourism to help shape the future of welcoming visitors to the island.
While the polite and multifaceted conversation presented opposing beliefs on certain topics, residents from communities islandwide ultimately were in agreement that better educating tourists could solve a majority of concerns, and that the biggest goal for tourism is to have visitors leave the island with a new outlook on life.
