GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on I-10 eastbound near mile marker 187 in Midway.

Troopers say a 2014 Subaru Outback was traveling east in the inside lane late Tuesday night. After passing another vehicle, the driver changed lanes, lost control, and veered off the road.

The car went down a grass embankment, launched over a concrete culvert at Monroe Creek, and struck a tree on the driver’s side. The vehicle came to rest upright along the east bank of the creek.

The driver, the only person in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted by the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, Gadsden County EMS, Midway Police, Midway Fire Rescue, Gretna Fire Rescue, and the Florida Department of Transportation
