HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) - A new family aquatics center in Madisonville celebrated its grand opening, and an Olympic champion was on hand to help dedicate.
Lilly King was there, and she talked about her time in the Olympics, including her famous finger wag that was caught on camera.
King says she used to swim at the old building and says the right facility makes all the difference for a competitive program.
"Swimming is a very facility driven sport," King said. "I mean you look at all the high school programs in Indianapolis and a lot of them have 50-meter pools at their high school, and you can see the impact that has on the program and the athletes. To be able to come swim somewhere nice is just going to bring so many more people in and not just for completive swim but for masters swimmin
