CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The former lawyer accused of killing his client, Aliza Sherman, has a hearing in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Thursday.

Earlier this month, attorneys for Gregory Moore asked that DNA evidence found on Sherman’s watch at the time of her death to be retested.

Attorneys argued that the DNA on the watch does not belong to Moore and could lead to the person responsible for Sherman’s death.

“We expect the court to allow us to have this information retested it clearly is exculpatory it clearly shows that he was not a contributor to this DNA and this information is very important to this case,” said Jon Paul Rion, Moore’s attorney in a previous interview.

On July 3, Moore posted a $2 million bond and was released from jail.
