GARY — "It's a new day at the Eagles' nest."
That's the mantra first-year coach Gary Richardson introduced when he took over Bowman's football program.
Between building a summer workout routine and instilling discipline, Richardson has brought new life to a team that's faced its share of adversity in recent years.
The Eagles entered this fall on a 20-game losing streak. Their last victory came in 2022.
Past defeats are behind a young Bowman team that stormed into the season with a 58-12 win over Christel House last Friday.
"It felt good," sophomore receiver Quentavious Fly said. "As a team, we came ready to play."
Fly and quarterback King Whisenton credited Bowman's turnaround to Richardson, who implemented weight training and workouts throughout the spring and summer.
