Reservations for the last weeks Rocky Mountain National Park's most popular campground will be open in September are to be released Aug. 28.

The park will release camping reservations for Sept. 10-27 at Moraine Park Campground starting at 8 a.m. MT Aug. 28, according to a park news release.

Reservations can be made through www.recreation.gov .

September offers prime aspen viewing and elk bugling in the park.

Moraine Park Campground will close Sept. 28 to complete remaining construction items from a modernization project that kept the campground closed for two years before it reopened July 23 .

The park expects to open the campground on a first-come-first-serve basis for the winter season Oct. 20.
