HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) - The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation approves a new tax to help pay for "educational benefits" like field trips.

On Monday, the school board passed and adopted a "cultural institutional fund".

By state law, districts of a certain size can set up that type of tax to support cultural programs. For EVSC, it means a rate of half a cent for every $100 of assessed value, starting with the 2026 budget.
