BLACKMAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WILX) - Julian Powell, a man from Jackson, has been charged with second-degree murder and felony firearm in connection with the death of 16-year-old Taesean Bartkowiak.

The shooting occurred on June 4 in Blackman Township. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Bartkowiak with a gunshot wound to the head.

He was unresponsive but still breathing and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. He died from his injuries later that month.

Powell is currently being held at the Jackson County Jail. If convicted, he could face up to life in prison for the second-degree murder charge.
