Last offseason, DeMar DeRozan chose the Sacramento Kings as his next destination despite drawing interest from four other NBA teams. In July, the six-time All-Star inked a three-year, $74 million contract with Sacramento.

However, after just one season, uncertainty already surrounded DeRozan’s future with the team. NBA insider Brett Siegel suggested that Sacramento may view him more as a trade piece than a foundational player.

“Expect both Monk and veteran DeMar DeRozan to be trade deadline assets for the Kings, depending on what direction they want to go,” Siegel reported.
