CLEVELAND (WJW) -- Ahead of the long holiday weekend, the National Weather Service has issued a beach hazards statement for parts of the Lake Erie shore.
All day Thursday, people are urged to steer clear of the water due to high waves and dangerous currents. The alert is going to be in effect for Cuyahoga, Lake and Ashtabula counties.
The National Weather Service also said there is a chance for waterspouts to form over Lake Erie, so be on the lookout for those.
