ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany County Correction Officer was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly assaulting an incarcerated person at the county correctional facility. Randolph Marks, 32, was charged with third-degree assault and official misconduct.
The Albany County Sheriff's Office said this arrest stemmed from an incident on Tuesday that was reviewed by administration. It is alleged that Marks kicked the incarcerated person in the head, injuring them, on Tuesday at around 7:23 p.m. while officers were trying to restrain the incarcerated person in handcuffs.
Marks was arrested and released on an appearance ticket. He was suspended without pay from the Albany County Correctional Facility pending termination of his employment.
