A White House official told reporters "we think the Danes need to calm down," when asked about a summons issued in Copenhagen for a top U.S. envoy, after it was reported that Americans have been conducting covert influence operations in Greenland.
Danish public media DR reported Wednesday that at least three Americans with ties to Donald Trump's administration had been in Greenland seeking to stir up popular resentment. The goal of the operation was reportedly to identify Greenlanders sympathetic to Trump's annexation plans and build an internal movement for secession.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen told the BBC the government was "aware that foreign actors continue to show an interest in Greenland and its position in the Kingdom of Denmark. Any attempt to interfere in th
